Purpose and Goals

This online multidisciplinary Summit aims to connect diverse communities and fields of expertise to determine precisely how robotics can best tackle the climate crisis responsibly, inclusively, ethically, and sustainably. The Summit will seek to build the evidence base for the value-add of robotics solutions for climate action and produce key, actionable recommendations for policy, financing, research, practice, and climate justice.

Experts and practitioners in climate science, climate action, and robotics, along with VCs, donors, and those working at the intersection of robotics and climate action, will share their insights on the current state and future of Climate Robotics. They’ll discuss critical opportunities, priorities, lessons & challenges in this space.

Summit Questions

  • What are the key climate priorities?
  • What climate solutions are already working?
  • What is climate robotics?
  • How do we define the field to inform critical discussions?
  • How urgent (if at all) is the need for robust robotics solutions?
  • Can robotics truly play a meaningful & measurable role?
  • If so, what concrete climate problems should the community prioritize?
  • What is the current evidence-base for the value-add of robotics?
  • What advances in robotics are needed to drive more impact?
  • What barriers prevent meaningful progress in climate robotics?
  • How do we design and deploy of climate robotics inclusively?
  • What is responsible, ethical and sustainable for robotics?
  • What policy changes are needed?

In sum, the Summit will drive knowledge sharing across multiple communities and disciplines to accelerate joint learning and new strategic partnerships to accelerate the responsible deployment of climate solutions.
